Microsoft to hire hundreds of IT specialists in Romania

Microsoft will hire several hundred IT specialists in Romania in the next five years, the company currently having 700 employees, Andrew Townhill, Microsoft Customer Services and Support EMEA Chief Technology Officer, stated for Mediafax on Thursday.
In Romania there are many young graduates that are very knowledgeable in foreign languages, according to Townhill, who added that Romanians are attracted to the latest technology.
“Everything has to do with the future. If we look back ten years ago, a family of five had a single PC that was shared by all family members. Now maybe there is no longer the traditional computer but there is a phone, a tablet, a laptop, maybe even a PC, so each family member uses various devices. Things are evolving extremely fast. Of course, we cannot predict the future, but as a technology leader you have to always think what the next step will be,” Townhill said.
In his turn, Florin Grama, head of Microsoft Romania’s Customer Service & Support division and President of the Association of Business Services Leaders, stated that people from all over the world will be hired.
