Foreign Minister Aurescu meets Israeli Ambassador, evokes very good Romanian-Israeli relations

Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu received on Friday Israeli Ambassador to Romania Tamar Samash on an introductory visit, on which occasion the two officials evoked the very good level of Romanian-Israeli relations, at a political level as well as in various sectors. Both sides reiterated their willingness to continue the upward trend of bilateral cooperation.

According to a press release by the Minister of Foreign Affairs (MAE), Minister Aurescu voiced appreciation for the freshly wrapped up visit to Romania of the Knesset Speaker and reiterated the importance of “continuing to strengthen the political-diplomatic dialogue and sectoral cooperation.”

The Romanian foreign minister and the ambassador of Israel in Bucharest also discussed topics on the international agenda, with focus on the challenges the Middle East region is facing, including the perspective of the peace process, MAE informs.

In the conclusion of the meeting, the Romanian minister wished the Israeli ambassador good luck with carrying out her term in Bucharest and pledged the full support of the MAE and of Romanian authorities to this effect.
