“Radu Stanca” National Theatre of Sibiu tours Japan

The “Radu Stanca” National Theatre in Sibiu will hold an important tour in Japan this October, with the performances “Gulliver’s Travels” and “Oedypus”, directed by Silviu Purcarete.
The tour will be held until October 26 and, in this period, TNRS actors will perform seven shows in the greatest Japanese performance halls: Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre and Matsumoto Performing Arts Center, including three performances of the work “Gulliver’s Travels” and four of “Oedypus”.
On August 27, 2015, the winners of the Japan Foundation Award were announced in Tokyo, and one of these winners was the International Theatre Festival in Sibiu (FITS).
A special ceremony will be organized in Tokyo on October 19. During this ceremony, FITS manager Constantin Chiriac will be handed out the Japan Foundation Award he had won, in the presence of crown prince Naruhito.
On October 20, Constantin Chiriac will have an extraordinary meeting with Emperor Akihito of Japan and with representatives of the Imperial House.
