U.S. Ambassador Hans Klemm, at Anim’est: “For me, it is the first opportunity to attend a cultural event in Romania”

The Ambassador of the United States of America to Bucharest, attended on Saturday the 20-year celebration of the first adaptation for big screens of the animated film “Toy Story”, an event held at Studio Cinema in Bucharest.
The American diplomat thanked organizers for the invitation, mentioning that it was the first cultural event he attended as an Ambassador.
“I am verz glad and excited to be with you tonight. I have recently arrived to Romania and it is the first occasion for me to attend a cultural event. This year we celebrate several events: the tenth edition of the Anim’est Festival and the 20th anniversary of a wonderful film, ‘Toy Story’, and also, we celebrate 135 years of Romanian – American diplomatic relations”, Hans Klemm declared.
The Ambassador was greeted at the Studio Cinema by a group of children from the “Ana and Children” Association, who attend a program of studying English at the Embassy of the United States.
Answering the questions asked by children, Hans Klemm told them that he had waited 30 years to have the opportunity to work in Romania.
“I have waited 30 years to have this opportunity to come to work in Romania. I have worked in many other countries and now, I am glad that I had the chance to come here”, Klemm told the children.
Asking whether any of them wanted to become an Ambassador, he advised them to learn well and, when they will get to represent Romania abroad, remember that they are Romanians.
“Learn well, as many foreign languages as you can, and develop a spirit of adventure. Never, ever, must you forget that you are Romanians and, wherever you go, represent Romania with honour to the world”, the US Ambassador told children.
The event was also attended by the artistic manager of the Pixar animation studios, Albert Lozano, who had produced “Toy Story” 20 years ago, the first animation long film produced entirely on computer.
“Toy Story” was screened during the tenth edition of the Anim’est International Animation Film Festival.
