Kingfisher appoints Christian Mazauric as the new CEO of Brico Depot Romania

Kingfisher plc, Europe’s leading home improvement retail group and the third largest in the world, appointed Christian Mazauric as CEO of Brico Dépôt Romania, in charge with the company’s Christian Mazauric (1)vision and performance on the local market.

Christian Mazauric is a highly experienced home improvement professional with more than 20 years of work experience, previously having held the position of Chief Finance Officer at B&Q UK & Ireland. Prior, he spent 11 years at Castorama France and anoher 6 years at Marks & Spencer in the UK.

The appointment of Mr. Mazauric is part of the plan by the new Kingfisher CEO Veronique Laury, to create a diverse, international management team at Kingfisher that will transform the business into a single, unified company, rather than a collection of individual businesses.
“Kingfisher is in the process of standardizing our formats across our markets, as it has become increasingly clear that our markets are more similar than different. Currently, our Brico Depot businesses in France, Spain, Portugal and Romania operate in very different ways. The format will become more similar across these markets”, Kingfisher CEO Veronique Laury explains.

“As CEO of Brico Dépôt Romania, my prime focus is the company’s growth and development. Thanks to my predecessor, the conversion of the stores to the Brico Depot format was accelerated and completed ahead of schedule. My contribution will now be to achieve a proper adaptation of this format to the specifics of the Romanian market, with a special attention to customer advice and service, CEO Christian Mazauric says.

Brico Dépôt was established in 1993 in Reims (France). It currently has 112 stores in France and 24 in Spain.
Kingfisher plc is an international home improvement company which operates nearly 1,200 stores in 10 countries in Europe. Its main brands are B&Q, Castorama, Brico Dépôt and Screwfix.
