President Iohannis to participate in meeting on migration convened on Sunday by EC

President Klaus Iohannis will participate in a meeting on migration in the Western Balkans convened by the European Commission on Sunday in Brussels, the Presidential Administration informs.

According to the source, the meeting will be attended by the heads of states or governments of Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.

The Presidential Administration specifies concrete aspects will be tackled in connection with the challenges generated by the refugee flows which the region countries are confronted with; the need of support for these countries will be analyzed, alongside with the EU and bilateral possibilities, in correlation with the European and international relevant agencies.

The leaders of the European countries confronted with the persistent flow of thousands of migrants and refugees were summoned to a mini-summit in an attempt to coordinate their actions face to the emergency situation in the Balkans, the European Commission indicated, Agerpres informs.
