Victoria Palace to be lit up blue on Saturday to mark UN’s 70th anniversary

Victoria Palace, the headquarters of the Romanian Governemnt, will be lit up blue on Saturday as part of a campaign celebrating the UN’s 70th anniversary, the Government’s Press Office informed on Friday.

“Turn the World Blue” campaign celebrates seven decades since the adoption of the Charter of the United Nations as well as the organization’s achievements in the field of peace and global security promotion. Several iconic buildings, such as the Sydney Opera, the Great Pyramids of Giza, Rio’s Christ the Redeemer and NY’s Empire State Building will participate in the campaign.

“For the occasion, the Romanian Government wishes to emphasize once more Romania’s commitment to the objectives of the Charter of the United Nations and the trust in the need to build a common future, based on tolerance and solidarity,” the Government’s statement reads.
