President Klaus Iohannis announced he invited Prime Minister Victor Ponta for talks on Tuesday.
“Yes, we had a phone conversation and I invited him for talks tomorrow,” the head of state said at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace on Monday evening, asked if he discussed with Ponta after he came back from Brussels.
He showed that the relation with the Government is a “complex institutional” relation, as he asked Ponta to resign and advised Deputy Prime Minister Gabriel Oprea to do the same.
Iohannis added that institutional communication with the Executive and the Legislature is working.
“The institutional communication is working and I will make sure it continues to work, even if some people from time to time mistake their headquarters with places such as the train station, where colloquial language is used,” Iohannis said.
On his recent dispute with Premier Ponta, President Iohannis said: “Mr. Ponta is very bellicose lately and my opinion is that he believes that through this attitude people forget he is on trial for forgery and tax evasion.”
