Ambassador Klemm visits ANI, reasserts the U.S. support for the fight against corruption and promotion of integrity in public life

The vice-chair of the National Integrity Agency (ANI), Bogdan Stan has met on Friday with the United States of America Ambassador to Romania, Hans Klemm, with whom he talked about the main topics of the agency’s agenda.

According to a release by the ANI sent to Agerpres, the deputy head of the agency told the US Ambassador about the institution’s activity developed in the context of the administration of the wealth and interests statements, as well as of the efforts of prevention and sanction of the incidents of integrity.

Talks have also aimed to the plans for the future of the agency as regards the full operationalization of the mechanism of prevention of the conflicts of interests in the activity of public procurement procedures, as well as those linked to the boosting of the awareness activity on the public integrity component.

During their meeting, Hans Klemm reasserted the US support for the ANI’s role within the efforts of fighting corruption, strengthening the rule of law and promoting integrity in the public life, and also for the takeover of the good practices implemented in the American administration as regards the integrity education.

At end-meeting, the source says, Bogdan Stan assured his interlocutor that the ANI will continue the process of accomplishing the commitments assumed as regards the public positions and dignities in a climate of integrity.
