By decision of His Majesty King Mihai, Queen Marie’s heart will be placed in the Golden Salon of the Pelisor Castle, the place where it beat for the last time. The relic will be transferred within a procession that will start on 3 November from the National History Museum and will rest in the Golden Salon of the Pelisor Castle, where the Queen died on Monday. 18 July 1938. Queen Marie’s last wish was for her heart to rest at he chapel she had especially designated for that purpose at Balcic. However, geopolitical developments made it impossible in 1940, only two years after the sovereign’s death.
