The Bucharest Court of Appeal on Friday ordered judge Geanina Terceanu of the Bucharest Tribunal on a 30-day pre-trial detention for having demanded 220,000 euros in bribe to issue an acquittal verdict in a controversial football transfer case.
In the same case, brothers Ioan and Victor Becali, the presumed bribe givers, were also placed under pre-trial detention.
The decision is not final and it can be appealed by the defendants.
Geanina Terceanu will be brought to the Bucharest Police Detention Centre, while Ioan and Victor Becali remained jailed at the Poarta Alba Penitentiary where they are serving a sentence for involvement in a players’ transfer case.
