President Iohannis promulgates law for 10pct rise of the wages of public sector’s staff

President Klaus Iohannis on Tuesday evening has promulgated a law by which the salaries of the staff with the sanitary sector will increase by 25 percent, while the other public workers’ wages will rise by 10 percent.

The bill provides that, starting with October 1, 2015 by exception from the provisions of article (1), the gross amount of the basic wages / the salaries of the basic job / the indemnities of the staff with the public sanitary system benefit from, as well as the staff with the National Institute of Medical Expertise and Recovery of Work Capacity and the territorial services of medical expertise under the territorial houses of pensions, are raised by 25 percent against the level on September 2015. Likewise, the public workers’ wages rise by 10 percent as of December 1, 2015.

The Law on the approval of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 35/2015 for the amendment and completion of the OUG no. 83/2014 regarding the public sector’s staff wages on 2015, as well as other measures with the public expenditure, as well as for the amendment and completion of Law no. 152/1998 on the setting up of the National Agency for Housing was approved on November 11 by the Chamber of Deputies’ plenary sitting.
