Freak Show: One-man-show with Florin Piersic Jr. at National Theatre of Bucharest – the Pictura Hall

*Unique to Romania, 13 characters, same actor

*After the success with “Sex Drugs Rock and Roll” that brought him the UNITER best actor prize in 2002, FLORIN PIERSIC JR. is back on stage in Freak Show

At the year’s end, on 28 December 2015, from 8 pm, the Bucharest public will be able to meet again with Florin Piersic Jr. who will appear on the stage of the National Theatre of Bucharest – the Pictura Hall, in FREAK SHOW.

Based on a text written by Florin Piersic Jr., directed and performed by him, FREAK SHOW is a one-man-show unique to Romania, a dynamic show designed to keep the audience’s interest up for two hours. The spectators will be able to watch the chameleonic evolution of the same actor who keeps transforming into a new character in a tantalising sequence. A cardboard billionaire, a construction worker, a banker, a retired citizen, a film producer or a teacher – are only a few of the 13 characters Florin Piersic Jr. brings into the limelight.

The absolute premiere of the show took place on 7 December 2013.

In 2014, FREAK SHOW participated as a guest performance in the International Theatre Festival (Sibiu), New Theatre Festival (Arad – The Classic Theatre), Gala Star (Bacău), Gala FESTCO (Bucharest – Special Jury Award Off section), The Ideo ideis Festival (Alexandria), Days of Humor (Gura Humorului), Butterfly Effect festival (Galati).

FREAK SHOW has been successfully presented to Romanian audiences in Germany (Cologne), Canada (Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa, Montreal), Belgium (Brussels – BOZAR Cultural Centre), France (Toulouse – Theatre de la Comedie), Great Britain (London – Leicester Square Theatre) and received standing ovations from the spectators who filled up the hall of the National Opera of Timisoara.

Tickets are on sale at the box office of the National Theatre of Bucharest, at the Mihai Eminescu bookstore and online at www.ticketnet.ro, www.bilet.ro, www.startickets.ro and www.biletoo.ro. The price of a ticket varies with the seat category – 30 lei for the 2nd category and 50 lei for the 1st category.
