37 companies obtain green certificates waivers

The agreement on waiver from the payment of a part of the number of green certificates included in the mandatory quota has been obtained by 37 companies, 7 of which are SMEs, and the quantity of electricity concerned totals 7 TW, according to the data published on Friday by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MECRMA).
“37 companies have benefitting in 2015 from the state aid scheme introduced through Government Ordinance 495/2014, receiving from the Economy Ministry the agreements on waiver from the payment of a part of the number of green certificates included in the mandatory quota. The quantity of energy for which the purchase of green certificates will be waived off in 2015 totals approximately 7 TW,” an Economy Ministry communiqué reads.
27 waiver agreements had been issued by the end of August 2015, the quantity of electricity concerned totaling approximately 6,000 GWh; that quantity could go as high as approximately 8,000 GWh by the end of the year.
