Highways and Roads Company Director sacked

Narcis Neaga, Director of the Highways and National Roads Company (CNADNR), has been sacked, official sources stated on Tuesday. A Transport Ministry communiqué shows that the General Assembly of CNADNR Shareholders decided to replace Narcis Neaga with Catalin Homor, the subsequent order being signed on Tuesday by Transport Minister Dan Costescu.
This comes against the backdrop of numerous suspicions of felonies, particularly in what concerns the Sibiu-Oraste Highway. In that case, National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) prosecutors have requested the entire paperwork, in original or in authorized copies, related to the construction of the highway’s sections and the financial documents related to the payments made.
The Transport Minister also announced that the procedure of selecting a new management – director general and Board of Directors – will start in line with Emergency Government Ordinance 109 on corporate governance.
Likewise, a period in which the company’s activity will be rendered transparent will follow and each person interested will be able to see as much information as possible about CNADNR’s projects, the funds that are about to be spent, the companies that will win the contracts and all aspects that are of interest for civil society.
