The Supreme Council for National Defence (CSAT) will be convened on Thursday, under the chairmanship of President Klaus Iohannis, at the Cotroceni Palace, to tackle, among other topics, the National Defence Strategy for 2015-2019.
According to a press release by the Presidential Administration, the meeting will also approach, starting 11 am, the national plan of information priorities for 2016, the plan on using Romania’s army forces that are sent abroad in missions and operations in 2016.
Also discussed in the CSAT will be the measures endorsed by Romania with a view to enforce the international sanctions’ regime, the intelligence strategy on 2015 – 2019 of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), the report on the National System of Terrorism Prevention and Fighting, the budget propositions for 2016 of the institutions with national security attributions and the CSAT activity programme for the next year.
Other interesting topics for the national security will be approached during the CSAT meeting, the source adds.
This Thursday’s sitting is the first to be attended by the CSAT members with the Ciolos government. The most recent CSAT meeting took place on September 17, 2015.
