HeidelbergCement, one of the most important players on the construction materials market

On December 1, HeidelbergCement Group finalized the merger of the three most important companies it owned in Romania. Thus, Carpatcement Holding, Carpat Beton and Carpat Agregate have become HeidelbergCement Romania.

“The aim of this merger process is our strategic positioning in relation to the economic environment, in order to better live up to the challenges of the period of time we are going through, in order to use our resources at their maximum potential, to more efficiently manage costs and to harmonize the organizational structure with that of the Group. Likewise, through this new organizational formula the Group reaffirms its long-term vision and mission: that of continuing to build on solid foundations in Romania,” HeidelbergCement Romania CEO Florian Aldrea stated.
HeidelbergCement Romania is one of the most important producers of cement, concrete and aggregates in Romania, and owns 3 cement plants (in Tasca, Fieni and Chiscadaga), 19 concrete stations, 7 quarries and 6 gravel pits. With total investments of over EUR 500 M, HeidelbergCement Group is one of the most important German investors in Romania.

HeidelbergCement is a global leader on the aggregates market and an important player in the cement, concrete and related activities domain, which makes it one of the biggest producers of construction materials in the world.
The Group is active in 2,300 locations in over 40 countries and has approximately 45,000 employees.
