Transport Minister Dan Costescu announced on Wednesday that three major state-run companies, namely CNADNR (National Road and Motorways Administration Corporation), CFR (Romanian Railways) and Metrorex (the Bucharest Underground), subordinated to the relevant ministry, will enter a process of restructuring immediately.
‘The main companies that are investing under the Transport Ministry’s umbrella will begin immediately a restructuring process. It is about the CNADNR, CFR and Metrorex. There have already started certain changes. (…) Obviously, these changes are aiming at a single purpose, to efficiently use the funds we could guarantee from the state budget or from European sources,’ the minister told a press conference at the Victoria Palace.
