Foreign direct investments to surpass EUR 3 bln

Foreign direct investments (FDI) in Romania have grown by EUR 270 M in October, to EUR 2.784 bln in the first ten months of this year, almost EUR 1.2 bln higher compared to the same period last year, the data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR) on Monday show.

If this dynamic is maintained, the FDI will surpass EUR 3 bln in 2015.

“The non-residents’ direct investments totalled EUR 2.784 bln, of which equity (including estimated net reinvestment of profit) amounted to EUR 2.72 bln and intercompany lending to EUR 65 M (net),” BNR states.

In the first ten months of last year, foreign direct investments totalled EUR 1.591 bln, of which equity (including reinvested profit) stood at EUR 1.598 bln, and intercompany lending registered a negative value of EUR 7 M (net).
