UniCredit Bank and Euronet double ATM network

UniCredit Bank and Euronet Romania announce the signing of a partnership that will allow the owners of cards issued by the bank to use Euronet’s network of 470 ATMs. By striking this partnership, UniCredit offers its card clients access to a network of over 1,000 ATMs and multifunctional cash withdrawal and deposit equipments, one of the banking system’s largest networks. For all operations carried out within Euronet’s ATM network, UniCredit Bank clients benefit from a structure of commissions and security standards identical to the one offered by the bank’s own network of ATMs.

In the first stage, UniCredit Bank clients will be able to use the Euronet network to withdraw cash, change their PINs and verify their balance. Later on, in the first part of next year, the list of available operations will grow by including the printing of small banking statement (the last 10 transactions carried out), top-up mobiles and the payment of bills for service providers that have agreements with the bank.

“Our partnership with Euronet Romania allows us to offer our clients one of the baking system’s largest networks of ATMs and multifunctional cash withdrawal and deposit equipments, and thus to be closer by their side. For us, the partnership with Euronet is a natural step we are taking against the backdrop of the enhanced attention we give to activity within the retail segment, a segment for which we have recently developed numerous products and services – credit cards that feature bonuses and unique offers, attractive saving options, competitive current account products, online and mobile banking services,” stated Sorin Dragulin, UniCredit Bank Head of Retail Banking Sales.

“The partnership we have struck with UniCredit Bank represents an important moment in developing our independent ATM network, once again confirming the success of our business model and allowing our partner to offer to its clients a higher level of services and satisfaction, and also to attain enhanced operating efficiency. UniCredit Bank is the ninth bank in our Romanian network, which now includes over 25 per cent of the banks present on the local market. Such an interest shown by the market bears witness to our strategy and should encourage any bank in Romania to join Euronet’s ATM network,” stated Dimitris Verikios, Euronet Regional Managing Partner.
