The Saint Petersburg Ballet on Ice to perform in Bucharest

The Saint Petersburg Ballet on Ice Ensemble will perform in Bucharest the “Nutcracker” on February 17, at Palace Hall. The music of the “Nutcracker” ballet was written by Pyotr Ilyici Tchaikovsky in January 1892 and in March of the same year, it was already finished.

The lead choreographer of the performance to be introduced in Bucharest is Konstantin Rassadin.

The majority of present skaters of the Saint Petersburg Ballet on Ice Ensemble are from the pairs of skaters who won national and international competitions. Many of them graduated world famous skating schools in Russia.

Starting in the year 1995, the Saint Petersburg Ballet on Ice Ensemble offers international audiences fascinating classical ballet performances adapted for ice: “Sleeping Beauty”, “Swan Lake”, “The Nutcracker” or “Cinderella”.

The majority of its artists are national and international award winning skaters, students of famous schools of artistic skating in Russia, such as Jubilejni, the school that gave World and Olympic Champion Evgeny Plushenko. Throughout the time, the ballet ensemble increased by other prominent personalities of artistic skating world, the pair Ludmila Beloussova and Oleg Protopopov – winners of European, World and Olympic titles, Alexey Ulanov, World, Olympic and European Champion or Ludmila Smirnova – also a winner of Olympic, World and European Championships. These are some of the artists who granted brilliance throughout the years to the performances of the Saint Petersburg Ballet on Ice Ensemble. At the time being, no less than 20 ballet dancers of the ensemble own the title of Sports Master in Russia for victories achieved in national and international artistic skating competitions.

Founded in 1967, combining for the first time classical ballet and artistic skating, held on a skating rink installed on the stage of a theatre, the Leningrad Ensemble (presently named St. Petersburg) revolutioned the world of shows. You may see and experience live such event in Bucharest, on January 17, starting at 7 PM.

Since 1995, Saint Petersburg Ballet on Ice Ensemble organizes international tours with the fascinating classical ballet performances adapted for ice: “Sleeping Beauty”, “Swan Lake” and “The Nutcracker” by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, as well as “Cinderella” by Sergey Prokofiev are the titles performed by the Saint Petersburg Ballet on Ice Ensemble over 7,000 times.
The price of the tickets for “The Nutcracker” ranges from RON 100 to 350 and may be purchased online, on the sites bilet.ro, eventim.ro, myticket.ro, salapalatului.ro, bilete.ro, at the Romanian Post offices, in Inmedio stores bearing the logo “bilete.ro”, at Germanos stores and at the Palace Hall box office.
