Romanian Royal Family welcomes carol singers at Savarsin Castle

The Romanian Royal Family hosted at their Arad County residence at Savarsin Castle an Doors Open Day and received many groups of carol singers on the occasion of the upcoming Christmas holidays.

Princess Maria, who has been spending Christmas at the Savarsin Castle since 2011, was joined by the Crown Princess Margareta of Romania and Prince Radu.

King Mihai I and Queen Anne, who are currently in Switzerland, decided against travelling to Romania due to the Queen’s poor health.

“Recently Queen Anne underwent surgery and is now recovering in Switzerland. Due to the poor health of Queen Anne, doctors advised against a journey to Romania by plane, and His Majesty preferred to stay by her side,” Princess Maria stated, adding that after the Christmas Holidays they will go and visit the couple in Switzerland.
