The total amount of the populations’ deposits in national (lei) and foreign currencies has grown in November as compared to October by 1.09pct, to rd 143.5 billion lei, according to a release by the National bank of Romania (BNR), sent to AGERPRES on Monday.
The households’ lei deposits have increased by 1.3pct up to 89.276 billion lei, and against November 2014 the growth is of 7.4pct (8.7pct in real terms).
As regards the lei deposits of the legal persons, they increased by 3.6pct, up to 67.509 billion lei. On November 30, 2015, the lei deposits of the legal persons grew by 8.4pct (9.6pct in real terms) as compared to November 30, 2014.
“The foreign currency deposits of the households and legal persons, expressed in lei have grown by 0.2pct up to 80,566.9 million lei (expressed in euro, they have diminished by 0.1pct up to 18,121.2 million euro). As compared to the same month of the previous year, the foreign currency deposits of the residents expressed in lei have increased by 6.2pct (expressed in euro, the residents’ foreign currency deposits increased by 5.7pct5); the foreign currency deposits of the households expressed in lei grew by 7.8pct (expressed in euro, the foreign currency deposits of the households increased by 7.3pct), and the foreign currency deposits of the legal persons expressed in lei grew by 2.9pct (expressed in euro, the legal persons’ foreign currency deposits grew by 2.4pct),” says BNR.
The deposits of the non-governmental resident clients increased in November 2015 by 1.6pct as compared to October 2015, to over 237.35 billion lei.
