Over 5,200 firemen on duty on New Year’s mini-holiday

More than 5,200 firemen and around 1,000 special vehicles are on duty every night and day on the New Year’s mini-holiday, while other 4,000 are ready to jump in, to ensure the specific missions oriented to the safety of the citizen, goods and environment.

According to a release by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) sent on Thursday to Agerpres, the intervention crews will ensure the specific missions, in integrated system, alongside the teams of the other structures with the Internal Affairs Ministry (MAI), as well as with the management of the types of risk, including the areas where large public events will be organized.

At the same time, response to medical emergencies will be ensured nationwide by the 262 daily available SMURD (Emergency Mobile Resuscitation and Extrication Service) firemen teams, which are to ensure qualified medical first aid, 27 mobile intensive care units, six mobile intensive care ambulances specialized in neonatology treatment and 36 special vehicles for personal transportation and multiple victims.
