Defence minister Motoc announces over 400 military exercises in 2016

Defence Minister Mihnea Motoc announced that the Romanian Army will hold more than 400 exercises in 2016 and have its operational capacity upgraded by additional budget allocations.

The plan of exercises is still in the drafting process, but there will be certainly more of them, Motoc said on Tuesday in the garrison of Buzau, during a visit alongside Chief of Staff General Nicolae Ciuca.

The 400 figure only covers the major exercises, of which 100 will be multinational, the minister detailed; conventional training will add to these.
