The number of businesses with foreign equity increased by 2.7 percent between January and November 2015 to more than 204,000, the National Trade Register Office (ONRC) said in a statistical report.
Thus, at the end of November 2015, the number of registered companies was 204,004, up from the 198,635 registered in December 2014. Their subscribed equity capital amounted to over 150.7 billion lei in November – the equivalent of 42.477 billion euros.
A number of 428 such companies were registered in November alone, running on a cumulative equity capital of 467,099 euros. Most of these businesses, specifically 162, were set up in Bucharest (with a cumulative equity capital of 266,469 euros), Timis County – 34 (27,186 euros) and Ilfov – 30 (65,961 euros).
In the ranking by the investors’ country of residence, Italy holds the leading position with the highest number of companies registered in November, specifically 123 businesses (with an aggregate equity of 34,033 euros), followed by Germany with 29 companies (153,159 euros) and Turkey with 26 (5,861 euros).
