Gheorghe Zamfir, maestro of the panpipes, will perform at Hard Rock Cafe

The absolute maestro of the panpipes, Gheorghe Zamfir will perform for the first time on the stage of Hard Rock Cafe, on January 13.
The artist that made a revolution in the sound of panpipes and emerged them to the rank of an art will perform with his accompanying band and will enchant the audience with classical tunes, as well as surprising moments, focused on reference pop-rock melodies or music excerpts from famous films”.

From his noteworthy appearance on the soundtrack of the cult film “Le grand blond avec une chaussure noire”, to his latest appearances on the soundtracks of movies such as “Kill Bill”, “Once upon a Time in America” or “Karate Kid”, the artist’s contribution to the field of film music is remarkable”, as shown in the press release issued by the organizers.

A landmark personality of the global culture, Gheorghe Zamfir was saluted by prestigious institutions worldwide, by being offered numerous awards and distinctions, such as the Medal of Vatican, the Cultural Merit Order of France, the title of Officer and Knight of France, Belgium and Luxembourg and the Commander’s Order in Colombia.

For his concert of January 13 in Bucharest, the maestro will present the audience his film music, his own composition and covers of songs that have made history.
