Ex-PM Victor Ponta and PSD Chair Liviu Dragnea, interrogated by Anti-Corruption prosecutors

Ex-Prime Minister Victor Ponta attended a hearing on Tuesday at National Anticorruption Directorate Oradea in the file of the former Vice-President of the County Council of Satu Mare, Mircea Govor. Ponta has the quality of a witness in this case. The Head of PSD Satu Mare is under preventive arrest in this file starting December 23, 2015.

When exiting the hearing, Ponta made no statements. Nonetheless, asked whether discussions had referred to the Govor file, the former leader of PSD declared: “It is only Mr. Prosecutor who can answer this question. Not me as a witness.”

PSD Chair Liviu Dragnea and Secretary General of the party Andrei Dolineaschi were also questioned by DNA Oradea in the same file.

The names of Victor Ponta, Liviu Dragnea and Andrei Dolineaschi are mentioned in the report based on which DNA prosecutors have requested Mircea Govor’s preventive arrest in the file he is accused of several accounts of blackmail and also of influence peddling by a person that owns a leading position in a political party in order to gain undeserved benefit for oneself or for others.
