November vital statistics show births decline, negative natural rate

There were 14,438 births in November 2015 in Romania, by 3,040 less compared to October, according to data released on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics. The number of deaths advanced by 522 to 21,689.

Compared to November 2014, there were 551 more birth and 474 more deaths. Thus, the November 2015 natural increase of the population was negative, with 7,251 less live births than deceased persons. The figure of infant (less than one year of age) deaths was 112 in November 2015, down by 40 from October.
The number of marriages was 5,837, down by 7,453 from October and by 42 YOY, while 2,876 divorces were pronounced (up by 115 from the previous month and by 543 YOY).
