The Government approved on Wednesday the campaign finance norms. The new rules will be applied starting this year, in the elections scheduled for the second half of 2016.
Political parties have to declare the contributions they receive, the sums earmarked for television ads and street posters, as well as the identity of their contributors.
For instance, large contributions can only be offered via bank transfers, according to Government Spokesperson Dan Suciu.
In line with Article 63, Paragraph 1 of Law no.334/2006 on campaign finance, republished, the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) drafted last year the Government decision on the approval of the enforcement norms of Law no.334/2006 on campaign finance.
Law no.113/2015 that amends Law no.334/2006 came into force on May 21, 2015.
