Minister of Foreign Affairs Lazar Comanescu met on Thursday in Lithuania with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland. The two officials approached, among others, the situation in the region, with focus on developments in the Republic of Moldova, informs a release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the cited source, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the traditional informal “Snow Meeting” on foreign policy and security, in the town of Trakai, Lithuania.
“The sides voiced particular appreciation for the current dynamics of bilateral relations and the clear desire to further develop the Romania – U.S. Strategic Partnership, both on the security and the economic dimension. The situation in the region was also approached on the occasion, with focus on developments in the Republic of Moldova,” the Foreign Ministry said.
