Judiciary priorities in 2016: modifications of Criminal Codes

According to the strategic priorities for 2016 published by the Government on Friday, the Ministry of Justice intends to change the Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code, to make function the National Agency for the Administration of Frozen Assets and to draft a Judiciary Police Law.

The ministry should also complete by April the action plan for the development strategy of the judiciary system, to pinpoint the areas most exposed to corruption by June, and to draft new anti-corruption strategies for the next four years.

Another major goal is to draw up and implement an open procedure for the appointment of chief prosecutors, based on professionalism and integrity.
