January-November GDP up by 3.7pc

Romania’s gross domestic product advanced by 3.7 percent year-on-year in the first three quarters of 2015, according to provisional data released by the National Institute of Statistics.
The growth was similar in the gross series and in the seasonally adjusted one.

In absolute figures, the January-November 2015 GDP was 528.921 billion lei current prices in the gross series (previous data released in December gave 498.48 billion lei) and 527.5 billion lei current prices in the seasonally adjusted series.

On a Q2 2015 basis, there was a 1.4pc advance in real terms in Q3 2015; on a Q3 2014 basis, the growth was 3.6pc both in the gross and seasonally adjusted series, for an absolute figure of the seasonally adjusted Q3 2015 GDP of 179.529 billion lei current prices.

The quarterly GDP seasonally adjusted series was unchanged in the latest estimate. In the gross series, there was a 3.6pc YOY advance to a Q3 GDP of 197.460 billion lei current prices.
In November 2015, the National Prognosis Committee had reviewed upwards to 3.6pc the forecast of the 2015 GDP growth, and kept unchanged at 4.1pct the forecast for 2016.
