UniCredit Group: “Best Trade Finance Provider” in CEE

UniCredit Group has been voted “Best Trade Finance Provider” in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and “Best Trade Finance Provider” in six countries in this region: Romania, Poland, Turkey, Croatia, Bulgaria and Bosnia & Hercegovina, in a survey conducted by Euromoney magazine.

Enrico Minniti, head of UniCredit’s Central and Eastern Europe Corporate & Investment Division, stated: “UniCredit has proved once more that it is the best partner for local and international corporations in Central and Eastern Europe, thanks to its extended network and wide range of trade financing products, of the competence of its consultants and of the attention given to technology and quality of service. UniCredit will continue to improve the services it provides, planning to invest EUR 1.2 bln in digital technology in the next three years. UniCredit Group will expand its trade financing products portfolio through the Bank Payment Obligation (BPO) in all countries in which it is present (at this moment BPO is available in Romania, Austria, Bulgaria, Germany and Italy).”

Marco Esposito, Executive Vice-President Corporate UniCredit Bank Romania, added: “This is the second consecutive year in which we obtain market recognition for the quality of the services we provide. We believe that developing a strong and reliable Trade Finance franchise in Romania and Central and Eastern Europe brings real benefits to corporations and their clients all over the world, contributing to their consolidation and healthy growth. We are preoccupied with supporting the growth of the trade finance market, permanently improving our products portfolio, our business systems and solutions, focusing on our clients’ real needs. The value and confidence offered by this award is an explicit recognition of our strategic ambitions, something that gives us the confidence to continue serving our clients by providing the best services possible.”

The survey, which relies on a sample of over 2,000 respondents from the international corporate area, allows clients to submit a personal ranking of three top providers of trade finance in the region they are active in. These answers are also used to come up with country ratings and to assess banking products and services.
UniCredit Bank is member of UniCredit, the European financial group with the largest network in Central and Eastern Europe and one of the most important in Europe. In Romania, UniCredit Bank is one of the main financial institutions, providing high-quality services and products to all categories of clients. UniCredit Bank plans to maintain the client permanently at the centre of its activities, to be an easy-to-work-with partner and to be an active backer of the communities it is active in.
