ALDE Co-President Calin Popescu Tariceanu will arrive in Neamt on Thursday, January 21, in order to meet ALDE’s local county branch.
ALDE Co-President Daniel Constantin will also take part in the meeting, alongside General Secretaries Nicolae Nasta, Damian Florea and Cristian Cosmin.
“The visit in itself is part of ALDE central leadership’s programme to maintain a close connection with its county branches in Moldavia, out of the desire to obtain on-the-spot information about the stage of the investments meant to develop this region,” ALDE Neamt Co-President Ion Asaftei stated.
“On the other hand, the visit will analyze the timeliness of strengthening the party by including new members, an initiative that will call for profound and responsible analysis. Our major goal is for ALDE to become the third political force in Romania,” he added.
It remains to be seen whether Tariceanu’s visit in Neamt has something to do with the recent dismissal of Neamt County Council Chairman Constantin Iacoban, the former president of UNPR Neamt. ALDE sources claim that the former County Chairman’s transfer to ALDE, along with that of a part of UNPR’s county branch, is imminent.
