Green light for Victor Ponta’s foundation

Victor Ponta has received the news he had been waiting for. Judges announced on Thursday that his foundation will be legally registered.

The District 5 Court has decided to approve the request and offer legal personality to Ponta’s foundation – the Black Sea Regional Cooperation Projects 2020 Association. Last week, the magistrates postponed the process after the foundation’s representative allegedly failed to file the necessary paperwork. The foundation will include former Ponta Government ministers and ex-advisors.

According to Romania TV, they include former ministers Marius Nica, Nicolae Banicioiu, Sorin Campeanu, Daniel Constantin (who is also ALDE co-President), and Ponta’s ex-advisors Mirel Palada and Cristian Socol. Daniel Constantin recently stated that the foundation does not have political objectives. The Black Sea Regional Cooperation Projects 2020 Association will be officially launched after the court decision.
