Posthumous exhibition by a photographer who died in Colectiv

An exhibition of 41 photographs made by Alexandru Chelba, one of the photographers who lost their lives in the fire at Colectiv Club, was opened at the ground floor of the Sibiu Municipality Mayoralty, Agerpres reported.

The entrance is free, and the exhibition will be open until Saturday.

“Starting on Monday, January 18, in the Grand Exhibition Hall of the Sibiu Municipality Mayoralty, in the Grand Square, we wished to pay homage to the life, but especially the work of a man who was more than a simple photographer for many people; he was a friend.

Alexandru Chelba was 33 when the terrible accident took him away from us, and has left behind him precious memories, as well as 600,000 photographs made at the greatest concerts in Romania. These images loyally reveal his spirit, dedication and passion for photography”, the press release announces.
