The owner of seven selections for nomination at the Grammy Awards, the artist who introduced live performed blues genre in Romania, AG Weinberger proposes an outstanding music session, an evening of blues and jazz in the spirit of the most seductive songs that represented the delight of the twentieth century: from Lionel Hampton, T-Bone Walker, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Benny Golson to Charlie Parker. There will be also the selection on his latest album, Mighty Business, launched last year, in November, presenting the crude, honest and direct sound of music notes that capture in the most authentic spirit the artist’s life stories.
The event will take place on January 30 at Teatrelli in Bucharest, starting at 7 PM. “Authenticity, creativity, live and uncompromised sound, an artist who brings the melodies and stories of the past century in the contemporary world”, as announced by organizers.

G Weinberger was born in Oradea, in the year 1965. An outstanding guitarist, vocalist, harmonika player, producer and host of radio and TV shows, as well as a music producer, he was defined as “the first missionary of the blues genre”, and specialized critics also named MR. Blues of Romania. In 1998, he was invited to perform at the Bluestock Festival, as the only non-American artist accepted to attend the famous event. In may 2000, he leaves in “cultural exile” in the United States of America, thus entering the grand competition of the American music market.
”Nashville Calling”, the first American album signed by AG Weinberger, was recorded during November 2004 and April 2005 in Nashville, and in 2006, it was proposed for nomination at the Grammy Awards, in seven categories. He is the only artist in Romania to reach such internationally valid artistic achievement.
B.B. King described Weinberger as a “charismatic guitarist of high class”.
He has released nine studio albums, he has written the scores for eighteen theatre performances and, during 2011 – 2012, he was the producer and host of the TV show “Lollypop – The Sweetest TV Show”, aired on TVR2 each Sunday evening.
In 2011, he was decorated with the Cultural Merit Order in the Rank of Knight” by the Romanian Presidency, as a sign of appreciation of his outstanding music career and for his constant efforts aimed at discovering and promoting new talent.
After having returned from the United States, Weinberger continued his mission with the same energy, with the same passion and devotion meant to impose quality music in Romania’s cultural life.
