The project “Conceived in Romania”, launched in Bucharest

On Thursday, January 21, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Bucharest has held the launch of the series of documentary films entitled “Conceived in Romania”, dedicated to grand Romanian inventors: Victor Babes, Anghel Saligny, Petrache Poenaru, Emil Palade, Aurel Vlaicu, Henri Coanda, Ana Aslan, Ion Cantacuzino, Hermann Oberth, Nicolae Vasilescu Karpen, Gogu Constantinescu and Traian Vuia. On this occasion, they also launched the bilingual album Outstanding Romanians Far and Wide, published by Alexis Publishing House in 2015.

The event was organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) and the National Authority for Scientific Research and Innovation (ANCS).

The project “Conceived in Romania” was completed by director Dan Mironescu, script writer Emanuel Badescu, composer Petru Margineanu and editor Gabriel Coroiu, who will be all present at the event. The audience may also view an editing documentary, made especially for the event due to be hosted by the Romanian Cultural Institute.

The album Outstanding Romanians Far and Wide was realized after a concept by Mihai Visinescu and includes presentations of personalities born in Romania who stood out abroad (such as Dimitrie Cantemir, Dora D’Istria, Emanuil Gojdu, Eudoxiu Hurmuzachi, Haricleea Darclee, Constantin Brancuși, Paul Celan, Isidore Isou, Benjamin Fondane, Marcel Iancu, Constantin Silvestri, Dinu Lipatti, Sergiu Celibidache, etc.). The book was authored by Dan Mironescu and Emanuel Badescu, with a foreword by Radu Boroianu, and an introduction by Basarab Nicolescu. (
