PNL approves 19 more candidacies for local elections

The National Political Bureau of the National Liberal Party (PNL) has approved on Wednesday 19 more candidacies for local elections.

“Today, we continued discussions and validating procedures (…) of ten more candidacies for Mayor positions in county residence municipalities and of nine candidates for Local Council President positions”, PNL co-chair Vasile Blaga (photo) declared in a press conference.

According to Blaga, the following candidacies were approved for county residence municipalities: Narcis Ionut Sofianu – Pitesti, Catalin Flutur – Botosani, Nicolae Florian – Giurgiu, Octavian Lupulescu – Targu-Jiu, Marius Tepelus – Miercurea-Ciuc, Dragos Victor Chitic – Piatra Neamt, Cristian Niculescu – Baia Mare, Florin Titirisca – Alexandria, Marius Arcaleanu – Vaslui and Stefan Ion – Focsani.

Also, the following candidacies were approved for county councils: Ion Dumitrel – in Alba, Iustin Cionca – in Arad, Nicolae Giugea – in Dolj, Dumitru Baianu – in Giurgiu, Dan Valceanu – in Gorj, Mircea Man – in Maramures, Marius Balu – in Mehedinti, Iulian Dumitrescu – in Prahova, Catalin Dumitru Toma – in Vrancea.

Blaga declared that more candidates would be announced next Monday.

Moreover, he pointed out that, at the level of Mehedinti and Vrancea organisations, there are chairmen and not co-chairmen starting this Tuesday, in the persons of Daniel Popescu and Catalin Dumitru Toma.

Last week, the PNL Political National Bureau approved the first 14 proposals of party candidates for the positions of mayors of county residence municipalities and three nominations for the presidency of county councils.
