Short film ‘Raisa’, in the competition of Clermont-Ferrand Festival

The short film “Raisa”, by Pavel Cuzuioc (the Republic of Moldova), starring Cristina Flutur, will be featured in the competition of the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival, besides the productions “White” by Paul Cioran (Romania), and “Zakat” by Andrei Annenski (co-production of Russia and Romania), the official website of the event announces.

The Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival (France) is one of the most important film events focused especially on the production of short films.

The film made in the Republic of Moldova tells Raisa’s story who leaves to the city in a winter day, in order to find something she hopes would change her life. The cast of the film includes Cristina Flutur and Maria Sagaidac.

The short film “White” is the story of a wood cutter who, in a winter day, tries to repair his mistakes and realizes he must make sacrifices. The music is signed by the band Grimus, and the cast includes Liviu Cheloiu, Ada Navrot, Gabriel Spahiu, Dana Voicu.

The short film “Zakat”, by Andrei Annenski, is the touching story of a young mother moving into a neighbourhood in Moscow. The woman has to sacrifice her dignity in order to offer her child a future.

The Clermont-Ferrand Festival takes place this year during February 5 – 13. The international competition of the festival will include 79 films selected out of almost 8,000 short films sent for pre-selection.
