24 Liberals, including Eugen Nicolaescu, Razvan Sava (currently Bucharest’s interim mayor), Alexandru Nazare and Honorius Prigoana, have announced their intention to enter PNL’s mayoral primaries in the hope of becoming their party’s nominees for the Bucharest District mayoralties and the Bucharest City Hall.
Current and former MPs, local council members, people from the private and public sectors are among those who have set their sights on winning a nomination.
According to Liberal sources, Diana Tusa, Victor Picu, Alexandru Nazare and Florin Alexandru Dumitrescu have expressed their intention to enter the party’s mayoral primaries for the District 1 Mayoralty.
In District 2, four other Liberals seek to obtain their party’s nomination for the June local elections: Dan Cristian Popescu, Ioana Gela Lazaroiu, Richard Radu and Adrian Neacsu.
In what concerns District 3, PNL will have to choose from among the following candidates: Cristian Tudorache, Bogdan Jansen, Eugen Nicolaescu, Inocentiu Voinea and Adrian Fatu.
The Liberals who have expressed their intention to win their party’s nomination in District 4 are: Marius Rogin, Alexandru Ionescu, Honorius Prigoana and Razvan Sava.
In District 5, the mayoral primaries will pit against each other the following candidates: Ovidiu Raetchi, Dan Croitoru, Virgil Balaceanu and Razvan Giurca.
In District 6, two candidates have expressed their intention to run in the primaries: Razvan Mironescu and Danil Tulugea.
In what concerns those seeking to obtain their party’s nomination for the Bucharest City Hall, so far the only candidacy that has received a validation from PNL Bucharest has been that of MEP Cristian Busoi.
