Romsilva: Forestry state property fund, down 62,000 ha in 2015

The forestry state property fund managed by Romsilva decreased last year by 62,356 ha, so that on December 31, 2015 it amounted to 3.15 million ha, Romsilva’s CEO Adam Craciunescu announced last week.

‘With the approval of the Forest Code, the former ICAS Bucharest [the Marin Dracea National Institute for Research and Development in Forestry] has become an independent unit and manages 48,000 ha, and the difference represents the areas repossessed following final and irrevocable decisions in court,’ said Craciunescu.

Romsilva ended 2015 with a turnover of 1.588 billion lei, by 15.5pct higher than estimated, with gross profit having exceeded 220 million lei.

According to the cited source, the investments made in 2015 from Romsilva’s own funds amounted to 73.9 million lei.
