The number of Vodafone Romania clients reached 9.10 million on 31 December 2015, up by almost 6 per cent (+496,723 clients) year-on-year, and the company’s revenues grew by 5.1 per cent to EUR 173.9 M, according to the results posted on Thursday by Vodafone Group Plc.
Of those 9.10 million clients, 8.46 million use mobile services. At the same time, the service revenues related to Q4 2015 grew by 5.1 per cent year-on-year in organic terms, to EUR 173.9 M.
Likewise, at the end of last year service subscribers represented 41 per cent of Vodafone’s client base, while Vodafone SIM Card users represented 59 per cent. The number of users of pre-paid services dropped by 0.3 per cent quarter-on-quarter.
According to the Vodafone results, the consumption of mobile data in Romania grew by 129.2 per cent year-on-year in the quarter that ended on 31 December 2015.
The smartphones’ penetration rate in the client base grew by 8.4 per cent year-on-year in the quarter that ended on 31 December 2015. At the same time, smartphone sales grew by 44 per cent year-on-year.
Vodafone Romania is a division of Vodafone Group Plc., one of the biggest global telecommunications groups, which offers a range of services that includes voice, text messaging and data services as well as landline communications. Vodafone has divisions in 26 countries, 57 partnered networks and landline broadband operations in 17 countries.
Vodafone Romania reports its financial results on the basis of the British fiscal year, which starts on April 1 and ends of March 31. The results reported on Thursday correspond to the third quarter of the 2015-2016 fiscal year.
