Germany’s Embassy donates proceeds obtained from traditional German Christmas Fair

The members of Germany’s Embassy are donating the proceeds worth 20,000 lei obtained from the traditional German Christmas Fair to some local associations and organizations in Romania, which are socially involved, informs an Embassy’s release issued on Monday for Agerpres.

“In Germany, many people take the opportunity offered by the period before Christmas to make money donations to some associations and organizations that are involved socially. This beautiful tradition was kept also at the Christmas Fair of the German Embassy, organized in 2015 for the fourth time (…). I am particularly glad that in the coming days we will be able to hand to each association the money donation. This is also a sign of solidarity with those people in the Romanian society who need especially support and help, regardless of them being victims of crime or elderly, sick and poor,” Ambassador Werner Hans Lauk was quoted as saying by the cited source.

The same source informs that the money will reach the Open Door Foundation, House of Hope Hospice, Palliative Care Center “St. Irene” and the Association of German Catholics in Bucharest.
