President Iohannis discusses migration with Bavaria Parliament President

President Klaus Iohannis, on a five-day visit to Germany, met on Thursday Barbara Stamm, President of the Bavarian State Parliament; they discussed migration challenges, the Romanian Presidential Administration informed in a media release.

The two officials appreciated the continuous development of relations between Romania and Bavaria, the document mentions.

The President thanked Ms. Stamm for her constant support, both as representative of the Bavarian government for the relations with Romania and as chair of the Bavaria-Romania Foundation for Social Assistance.

The talks mentioned the importance of the Romanian community of Bavaria and of the Romanian-born ethnic Germans “as a solid bridge for connection and cooperation.”

European topics were also discussed, especially the challenges generated by migration.

President Iohannis’s agenda also includes a meeting with Minister-President of Bavaria Horst Seehofer and participation in the Munich Security Conference from Friday to Sunday.
