Philip Morris Trading and Philip Morris Romania – the two local entities of the tobacco manufacturer Philip Morris International – were officially certified as Top Employers for their exceptional employee offerings.
The annual, international research undertaken by the Top Employers Institute recognises leading employers around the world who provide excellent employee conditions, nurture and develop talent throughout all levels of their organisations and strive to continuously optimise employment practices. Following this research, for the first time, both Philip Morris companies operating in Romania received the Top Employers Europe 2016 Certification.
In order to achieve this Certification, all candidate companies have to complete a stringent research process. The first stage is HR Best Practices Survey, a comprehensive analysis of the Human Resources environment – strategy, policy implementation, monitoring and communication of employee conditions and development. The following stages – validation, external audit conducted by company Grant Thornton and rating performance scores against an international standard – are those that make the research process accurate.
Philip Morris Trading and Philip Morris Romania successfully completed all these stages and the employee conditions provided by the two companies earned them a coveted spot among a choice group of certified Top Employers.
”The Top Employer Certification is very valuable for the two Philip Morris companies operating in Romania, as it was earned following a very comprehensive analysis of employee conditions”, said Steen Hjortholm, Managing Director Philip Morris in Romania. ”This Certification confirms that the work environment and benefits we provide locally to our colleagues are not only in line with international standards, but also place us among the European and global top employers. The fact that each company has to undergo the Certification process each year ensures the relevance and timeliness of the evaluation and is yet another proof that Top Employer is a testament to the consistent focus of the management on the wellbeing of the employees.”
At international level, Philip Morris was recognized as a Top Employer in Europe for the fourth consecutive year, and for the first time in the Middle East. Philip Morris affiliates from 24 countries were certified as Top Employers this year.
