Romania and Bulgaria harmonize energy regulations

The presidents of the Bulgarian and Romanian energy regulatory authorities signed a bilateral cooperation agreement on Wednesday, during a working visit that a Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) delegation paid to Sofia at the invitation of the Bulgarian Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC), BTA informs.

ANRE President Niculae Havrilet (photo) considers that this agreement will help the harmonious development of the energy market and the security of energy supply. In his turn, EWRC President Ivan Ivanov stated that this agreement marks the beginning of a cooperation process that will continue at the level of commissions and experts.

The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) drafts, approves and monitors the implementation of mandatory nationwide regulations needed in order for the electricity, heating and natural gas sector and market to function efficiently, competitively and transparently while protecting the consumers.
