Huawei takes over maintenance of UPC Romania network

UPC Romania cable company has formed a strategic partnership with Huawei Romania in order to outsource its network maintenance and client support services, Huawei thus taking responsibility for services that are specific to “on the field” activity, UPC Romania announced, Agerpres informs.

The partnership entails the transfer to Huawei Romania, in 2016, of the teams that currently handle on the field operations as part of the network operations and client operations departments of UPC Romania.

Huawei Romania was selected following a tender organized by UPC Romania, a process in which important players from the local telecommunications market took part in, an UPC Romania communiqué shows.At the end of 2015, UPC Romania had a portfolio of 1.243 million clients and 2.127 million services (subscriptions). UPC Romania is affiliated to Liberty Global plc, the biggest international cable company, present in 14 countries.
