Journey through Greek music, at the Romanian Cultural Institute

With the occasion of the National Day of Greece, March 23rd, at 19:00, it will be held at the Romanian Cultural Institute (RCI) the concert Journey though Greek music by Teti Kasioni (voice) and Yorgos Athanasiou (guitar). The event is organized by the Greek Cultural Foundation in partnership with RCI. Teti Kassioni and Yorgos Athanasiou will interpret compositions signed by Manos Hatzidakis, Mikis Theodorakis, Vasilis Tsitsanis, as well as by other important musicians of the Greece, from past to present.

Teti Kassioni is a young singer and songwriter of pop and ethno music. In the last years, she was part of musical bands whose purpose was to promote the music of various nations -Antidotum Taranatulae, Mare Libre or Graviton –in the way enriching her international repertoire. She collaborated with important greek composers and songwriters. She graduated from the Aristotel University, the department of French Language and Literature. Now she is working for her first disc and she participates at concert on the most important scenes from Greece.

Yorgos Athanasiou was born in Paramythia, from Thesprotia region, in the North East of Greece. He studied classic guitar and the traditional Greek music, being specialized in oud (outi). He has the Kostas Grigoreas soloist and composer as classic guitar teacher. He attended seminars of classic guitar under the guidance of Roland Dyens, John Mills, Kostas Grigoreas, Liza Zoi and Evanghelos Asimakopoulos. He was part of the working musical groups organized by de Fotis Siotas.

The concert is held under the aegis of Embassy of Greece in Bucharest and it is sponsored by Piraeus Bank, Imobiliara Chrissoveloni, LUX, Dirent si Phoenicia Grand Hotel.
